Most of these viewers have some editing capabilities
Irfanview ![]()
Picture Viewer with basic picture editing capabilities. This is a great picture viewer that allows you to view, convert, optimize, scan & print, create slideshows, do batch processing, play movies & sounds plus quite a bit more. Plug ins are also available.
XNView ![]()
Prgram Type: Multimedia Viewer, Browser, Converter
XNView and Irfanview, are, in my opinion, the best media browsers around at the moment. The best thing to do is download both and see which layout you prefer.
Platforms: Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, Solaris and others
Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition ![]()

Program Type: Photo Editing/Picture Viewer
Basic editing for your digital photos. You can fix common photo flaws such as red eye, color, and brightness, attach photos to e-mail, or send them to mobile phones. Order prints online. The downside with this program is that it's clunky and not great if you have a lot of images. Also the program tends to push you to ordering online services which can be annoying if all you want to do is organise your images. Plus I really don't like the way it made itself the default viewer without asking!
Platform: Windows
Picasa ![]()
Program Type: Picture Viewer and Editor
This is a very professional looking viewer that also allows you to edit your photos. But I have to say I just don't like it, and have only included it because a family member raves over it! It can't seem to show all the pictures on my hard drive, no matter how hard I try to tweak the settings, plus I find it a little cumbersome to use. This is probably more useful for people who don't have large numbers of images on their computer. I would definitely recomend Irfanview over this.
